Portrait Without a Face

March 2, 1944 rich

Synopsis

A painter who happened to witness a killing finds the culprit's face has slipped entirely from memory, even though he's sure it was a woman standing over the body. He sets brush to canvas anyway, sketching everything but her features, gambling that finishing the portrait will shake the missing detail loose.
