· 65 broadcasts

Jerry at Fair Oaks is the 1938 sequel to Jerry of the Circus -- the second of two juvenile serials the West Coast producer Bruce Eells and his Broadcasters Program Syndicate built around an orphaned boy named Jerry Dugan. With the big top judged "no place for a bright boy to grow up," Jerry's circus guardians enroll him in the Military Academy at Fair Oaks, conveniently near the circus's winter quarters so his old friends stay within reach. Across 65 fifteen-minute chapters he learns cadet life -- honor, discipline, polo, and a football team -- while some classmates resent the tricks he picked up under the tent. The continuous story runs from a new roommate and a first round of demerits through a court martial, a treasure hunt, and a spy chasing academy secrets, closing as Jerry earns his corporal's stripes. It is a gentle, complete artifact of syndicated children's radio, surviving intact through the Old Time Radio Researchers set. Note: the individual cast and exact broadcast dates for this serial are not documented in any surviving record.
